Had I learned it in nine years' time, it would have taken me half a century. Love at first touch has another layer... for both. And it still requires a definite and careful growth. With all the care and tenderness it is like allowing the projection of a feeling to define one's decisions. And they still need to be taken. Right or wrong. Mind and heart at odds.
Be it Fear, the Situation, Disbelief... Suprise at something so glorious. "No! It can't be!" Powerful protection mechanisms kick in - and if one is lucky - they may start to fade and allow the full volume of feelings to flow through one's soul.
Especially after a long and intense life. And there is still one ahead of us. As children and as a growing organism that slowly becomes one.
